It’s party time, and I’m so pumped! Right now, I’m planning not one, but two parties. I so enjoy parties. There’s nothing like picking out a party theme, decorations, printables, invitations, food and games. I l-o-v-e party games!
Party #1 – Shutterfly ‘Give and Get Joy’ House Party
The first party is just a week away. I was lucky enough to be selected to host a Shutterfly ‘Give and Get Joy’ House Party at my crib.
Aside from having a reason to hang out with friends, the best part is that my guests and I will each get a photo book, personalized holiday cards and free shipping all courtesy of Shutterfly. How cool is that? Check out all this great loot they sent.
So with the party swag taken care of, I now have just a few days to figure out what to do about everything else. My plan is to keep things simple. After reading this great article about opening our homes, I’m trying not to get too caught up in trying to have the perfect everything (though, admittedly, I do have a list of projects that I want to complete before the party).
Side note…I have to say that photo books are one of the best inventions ever. They’re super easy to make, and you don’t have to bother with printing out pictures. You can even customize your book cover, select different backgrounds and embellishments, and change-up your fonts. Even if you’re a die-hard scrapbooker, you should give it a try at least once.
Party #2 – Calling All Super Heroes
The second party that I’m planning really has me excited—it’s the Drama King’s second birthday party. I so can’t believe this my sweet baby boy is almost two!
His party won’t be at our house though—my boys are way too active. We opted instead for a gymnastics center. There’ll be plenty of room for them to run, jump and play—because that’s what super heroes do.
Given that the boys are into The Incredibles these days, I thought a super hero theme would be perfect. This cute invitation is another Etsy.com find. Now, I’m feverishly scouring the internet for ideas for decorations, party favors and cakes. Lest I get too crazy, hubbie’s always there to make sure my grandiose visions don’t exceed our not so grandiose budget. Rest assured, I’ll keep you posted on the big boy’s shindig.
What about you…plan any parties lately? Don’t let the year go by without sharing your home with others. You still have two months left in the year to invite some folks over.
Disclosure: Although I did receive some great loot from Shutterfly, all the opinions shared are my own.
