9 Completely Random Musings

Since there wasn’t a Five Minute Friday today like I thought (I completely forgot the host was taking a break for the month of December)…

And I wasn’t prepared to write about anything else…

You get 0 Completely Random Musings by Kacey. Why only 9? Well, because 9 is random of course.

Royal Baby Watch

Raise your hands if you’re excited to hear the super likeable royal couple known as Kate and William have a baby (or babies if you believe the speculation) on the way. They seem so down-to-earth. And so fashionable that Kate is. I imagine we’ll be seeing a lot of baby bump sightings for the next few months.

My Little Vampire

I was playing yesterday with my usually sweet, easy-going Gabriel when he bit me. I have no clue why, but it hurt like heck. While I was trying not to yell out some expletive (me who rarely ever curses), he was laughing. In my head I was thinking WTH? I looked this morning and saw he even left fang teeth marks.

Your Bed Is My Bed

At least that’s what my daughter seems to think. She’s ended up in our bed just about every night lately. I guess we have ourselves to blame. At night, I’d always take her to our room to put her to sleep so she wouldn’t disturb the boys and vice versa. Then, if she ever woke up crying during the night, hubbie would bring her to our bed. Now, she thinks our bed is her bed. I’m hoping a few nights at Granny and Paw-Paw’s in a few weeks will cure this.

The Project That Keeps Going On and On…

In case you’re wondering, baby girl’s room still isn’t done yet. It’s getting a little ridiculous, don’t you think? I will finish before the year is over. I did finish painting the $4 Ikea table.

Though not before the kids got hold of it with some crayons. Maybe they were trying to tell me something. Ha!

In hindsight, I wish I’d started painting the “You are my” a little higher, but I’ll live with it for now. Knowing me, it’s going to really start bugging me; at which point, I’ll re-prime  the whole thing and start over.

New Year’s Resolutions

I’m starting to think New Year’s resolutions. What about you? I’m also planning to change up my 40 Before Forty list a bit. I have no clue what I was thinking on some of those items. Look for updates on both in early January.

Mums the Word

The boys’ have their Christmas program at school tonight. They’ve been practicing for weeks while I’ve been trying to figure out what songs they’re singing. I finally had to ask the teachers if they tell the kids to keep it a surprise because whenever I ask Gabriel he responds with “I am a robot” in his robot voice.

Breakfast of Champions

This morning I had one of these soft pretzels for breakfast along with a cup of orange juice.

OK…no, I’m kidding. I actually had TWO of these soft pretzels for breakfast. Not your typical hearty breakfast, but I justified it by saying I could do worse and have two doughnuts. Me and soft pretzels have a thing. It’s probably not a good thing that I stumbled on these in the freezer section at SuperTarget.

I’m a Hoarder

I’ve never been much of a hoarder. I hate clutter. I don’t collect anything. Except when it comes to books—specifically eBooks. I have way too many brand new, never read eBooks sitting in my Dropbox and Kindle library. Amazon makes it so easy to buy them. Then, you have all the books given away for free. Plus, because they’re digital, you don’t really notice how many you’ve accumulated. I’m tempted to say one of my resolutions will be to not buy any new books next year until I’ve finished all the ones I already have. It’s that bad.

101 Days of Christmas

I can’t believe we’re down to the last few days of Life Your Way’s 101 Days of Christmas. It’s been such a blessing to participate as a contributor. And quite fun, too! Here are some of my latest posts:

If you need a cute gift idea for the kids’ friends or want to have a cookie decorating party, but don’t have the time, check out Santa’s Cookie Kit.

These snowman Rice Krispie Treats were easy to make and good to eat.

Also, this Random Acts of Kindness Advent Calendar has been quite popular. It’s not too late to start.

That table looks great! We’ve got the “Your bed is my bed” thing going on here also. They also seem to think our bed works better if you put your feet at the top, and head at the bottom. It’s a rude awakening, and I want to get upset…..but as they cuddle up to me as I carry them back to bed…..it melts away again. :)

I know!! Same here. I want them to sleep in their beds but it’s just so cute and sweet. Though I’m sure the sentiments won’t be the same if this is still happening when they’re teens. :)

I’m with you regarding ebooks. My collection of free and bought ebooks has gone berserk.
Happy to know that I am not the only bookaholic.

You’re not alone at all! I’m finding that committing to not buying any new books for an entire year is about as difficult for me as giving up sweets.
